Follow Label When Taking Acetaminophen

It's safe to take acetaminophen as directed on the label, but taking higher doses can lead to severe liver damage, says the Food and Drug Administration. You shouldn't take acetaminophen for more than the recommended number of days, or take more than one drug that contains acetaminophen at the same time. More than the recommended dose will not provide more relief. Don't take acetaminophen and drink alcohol.
