Binge-Drinking on Rise
The number of Americans who binge-drink -- meaning they consume at least five drinks at one sitting -- has increased by 35 percent since 1995, according to American Medical Association. This practice accounts for nearly half of the 100,000 alcohol-related deaths each year.
