Folate and Depression

Folate, a B vitamin, may help ease depression. Studies have shown a link between depression and low blood levels of folate. Researchers at Tufts University suggest that taking 400 mcg of folate, the amount found in many multivitamins, may improve depression and make antidepressants work better.
