More Weight Increases Cancer Risk
Being overweight or obese (body mass index of 40 or more) increases the risk for dying from cancer, according to research published in 2003 in the New England Journal of Medicine. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, about 64 percent of U.S. adults are either overweight or obese and 15 percent of children and adolescents are overweight.
