Preventing Eye Injuries

Sports eye injuries happen in the blink of an eye, yet 90 percent of such injuries could be avoided, according to Prevent Blindness America. Anyone playing sports should wear safety glasses, goggles and/or face masks/helmets appropriate for the sport. Lenses should be made of polycarbonate and carry an ASTM (American Society for Testing and Materials) label.
