Motorcycle Loudness
People who ride motorcycles may be putting their hearing at risk, according to researchers at the University of Florida. A revving motorcycle can produce noise levels greater than 100 decibels, on par with the loudness of a chainsaw or a rock concert. At that level, hearing loss can occur after about 15 minutes. Wearing a helmet doesn't reduce the noise, the researchers said.
